World Service Business Convention (WSBC) 2026

Information for attendees

• Hotel accommodations are not included with your FA Convention registration and must be booked separately. Use this link to book your room at the hotel, or call 978-777-2500 and use the code FA6 to book a discounted room. Reservations must be made before April 28, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT. The room accommodations and all convention events/activities/meals take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore, 50 Ferncroft Road, Danvers, MA 01923. 
• All guest rooms are equipped with mini-refrigerators and microwaves. A limited number of full-size refrigerators and microwaves will also be available in the hotel hospitality suites throughout the weekend.
• Cancellation Policy: All room cancellations must be made directly with the DoubleTree by Hilton. The FA Office does not process or manage hotel room cancellations.
• Meal Plan: We provide only one food plan for the Business Convention. Members that choose not to buy the food plan are welcome to bring their own food and eat in the hospitality suites provided by the hotel. If you are planning to arrive past 7:00pm on Friday, May 29, please arrange for your own meal, as the hotel will not serve latecomers. Note you will not be allowed to change your meal plan after you have paid/registered.

Financial Assistance

In 2026, all FA meetings should elect a World Service Conference member to attend the 2026 FA World Service Business Convention in-person, May 29 - May 31, 2026. World Service Conference members can apply to their intergroup for financial support. 

• Eastern Area Intergroup (EAI) Financial Support Application
• Western Area Intergroup (WAI) Financial Support Application

Early application deadline: To receive a financial support offer by January 30th, World Service Conference members representing a meeting in EAI can apply by January 20, 2026, and World Service Conference members representing a meeting in WAI can apply by January 15, 2026.

World Service Conference members representing a meeting in EAI can continue to apply for financial support until  February 28, 2026. World Service Conference members representing a meeting in WAI can continue to apply for financial support until March 31, 2026.

Refund Policy

Refunds will be made only if REQUESTED BY EMAIL to the FA World Service Office BY April 28, 2026. No changes can be made to meal plan purchases after April 28, 2026. Any registration or meal plan change that results in a refund will incur a charge of $10. In no case will I dispute this charge with my credit card company for any reason. I agree to take any issues to FA-WSI by email only for resolution (fa@foodaddicts.org).

Motion Submission Procedure

• Main motions may be submitted by (1) executive boards or committees of FA chapters or FA intergroups, (2) WSI committees, or (3) the WSB.  
• Boards of Intergroups or Chapters can use this online form to submit a motion. If you need help, contact the FA Office at fa@foodaddicts.org or by calling 781-932-6300.
• The motion submission form must be submitted at least 90 days prior to the first day of the convention. The 2026 due date is February 28, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
• The completed form is automatically forwarded to the WSI secretary, WSI Bylaws Chair, WSI Convention Planning Chair, and the Board Motions Review Committee Chair.
• Motions will be reviewed by the Motions Assistance and Review Committee (MARC), which will make sure that the motion does not duplicate or conflict with the FA WSI bylaws or standing rules of order. The MARC will consult with the relevant WSI committee and contact the motion makers to ensure that their intent and meaning is clear and to thoroughly understand the background and facts regarding the motion. Any motion to amend the bylaws will be forwarded to the WSI Bylaws Committee.
• The finalized motions submitted by intergroups, chapters or WSI committees will be sent to WSC members for their consideration at least 60 days prior to the convention. WSC members will vote on each motion, stating whether the motion should or should not be placed on the convention agenda. The final decision as to whether or not a motion is placed on the agenda belongs to the WSC members.
• Ballots from WSC members regarding the motions must be returned by the established process and deadline for a given year.
• If the majority of the WSC members vote to accept the motion for the business convention agenda, the motion will be placed on the agenda.
• All WSC members will receive a convention agenda and relevant materials prior to the convention so they will have time to prepare.
