How to educate professionals who may work with still suffering food addicts

Clergy, health professionals, EAP workers, mental health workers, and service professionals are in a prime position to offer information about FA recovery to the people they serve. People come to them with stories of pain, illness, and despair, and often trust these helping professionals to guide them to solutions. Our most effective PI tool is our own physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery, and we pray for opportunities to respond generously and humbly when asked how we maintain these one day at a time.

Rather than investing in mass mailings, we encourage members to focus on spreading the word within your existing relationships—with health professionals, clergy, mental health workers, physical therapists, etc. From talking about your recovery to providing literature to linking them with a slide presentation or information session, there are many ways to support helping professionals in their efforts to serve suffering food addicts and their families.

Here are some resources for raising awareness of FA recovery among professionals in your circle.
