About the Team:

Media Watch coordinates efforts to spread the word via print, radio, television and the internet. The service takes many forms. When FA members identify relevant media items, the team members send out letters to authors or other relevant professionals mentioned in the item to educate them about the FA Program. Based on responses, team members send literature to interested parties. 

About the Role: 

This is a wonderful opportunity to share the message of FA with individuals who may personally benefit or be able to share with others. In general, people who are a good fit are those comfortable using email and doing internet searches.

• You will be assigned articles, skim articles for names, look up the contacts’ email addresses online and send them a template email about FA.
• This service can be done at any time, from anywhere you have an internet connection.
• You’ll keep a tally of your activity to share with the team lead.

Requirements: 

• 90-day abstinence requirement.
• Comfort with internet searches and email. .
• Review team guidelines and attend info session or speak with current team member about the role.
• We’re looking for people who can commit an average of an hour a week.
• Like any service position, we suggest you discuss with your sponsor prior to training.
• Participate in 30-45 minute training (video/phone); if you feel like you need more help afterwards, we can do one-on-one training.
• Join monthly Western Area Intergroup meetings (if possible) or attend quarterly team calls.
