2025 FA World Service Business Convention

SHORT NAME: Revised Pamphlet

MAIN MOTION

The World Service Board moves that the 2025 World Service Conference adopt a revision of the pamphlet “Some Thoughts on Sponsoring”.

RATIONALE

The purpose of this motion is to revise the 2009 version of “Some Thoughts on Sponsoring.” The original pamphlet was written years ago, and while many continue to find it useful, it was time to update the pamphlet to reflect more current practices in sponsoring. A key revision in the proposed version is the emphasis that sponsors are not medical professionals and should not offer advice or suggestions regarding any medical issue. While remaining true to the core principles of recovery from food addiction, the proposed version contains contributions from many FA members with varying sponsoring practices. In rewriting this pamphlet, the Literature Committee has solicited input from the entire fellowship.
