Posting Announcements Online

Tools to help local PI reps announce meeting and info sessions online for free

Posting announcements online for local meetings and/or information sessions in various free online event sites such as Eventbrite, Craigslist, and Patch is a great way to spread the word about FA and to help reach the still suffering food addict.  The Online Calendar Announcement Subcommittee has developed tools to help local meeting PI reps and local service groups access and organize these announcements:

The Online Calendar Announcement Resource (OCAR)

The Online Calendar Announcement Resource (OCAR)  is a spreadsheet of local, national and international websites where meeting announcements can be posted.  The spreadsheet is organized by tab. Each tab along the bottom of the spreadsheet has useful information you can use to post your meeting announcement.  Here is a brief overview of its contents:

  • Master List of Sites Tab: A list of free sites that are organized by country, state, and city
  • Calendar Announcement Text Tab: Sample wording for posting your meetings
  • Additional Instructions: Several other tabs offer more in-depth instructions on using the OCAR and links to downloadable logos

Online Calendar Announcement Log

Once you create your posting the Online Calendar Announcement Subcommittee asks that you enter your relevant information into the Calendar Announcement Log.

Tracking Forms

These forms will allow you to record your media contacts, postings, login information, and dates/durations of the announcement.  It is important  to track this information in so that your posting can be edited and coordinated, or it can be passed to another PI rep
